It's Friday, Friday! Everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend, weekend.

Simultaneously one of the worst and therefore best songs of the last decade. If you are ever confused about how days of the week work, here's a quick reference:

Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
Today is Friday, Friday (Partyin')
We, we, we so excited, we so excited (Partyin')
We gonna have a ball today
Tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards
I don't want this weekend to end!

Here's the odd thing about political correctness. You can actually be a professor at a top university and write in published books (not just tweets) about how you want to murder people via poison gas because of their race, and the woke will not object.

You just need to want to genocide the *correct* group and then all is forgiven.

This movement has nothing to do with treating anyone with respect. It's about political control of language and nothing more and should be treated with contempt by anyone with a conscience.

Sources of power will inevitably be corrupted by those who covet it

Popular systems for disseminating information are inevitably sources of power

The solution is to design information systems that make the accumulation of power impossible

Only 9 minutes and well worth the watch.

The title says that Jordan Peterson "predicts" the death of mainstream media. If you listen, he didn't predict. He pronounced. Like a coroner. And he's SPOT ON.

IT'S ALREADY DEAD TO EVERYONE UNDER 30.

As if it never existed in the first place.

The old guard is being quietly razed from the Earth and they don't even seem to know it.

Thought for the day:

Cheer up. The media have always been lying to us, it's just clearer now because the internet allows for opposing voices to be heard.

Based on personal experience, I think the American people, and most people around the world, are a much more moral and considerate people in real life than one would be lead to believe by what they write about each other on the internet and the stories the media concocts about them for clickbait.

In the last few years, the ACLU has issued 72 statements on transgender issues and 7 statements on free speech on the internet.

Thought of the day (from Rod Dreher):

We are looking for political solutions to what are ultimately religious problems.

My jeans are wearing out and I've decided to get new ones. Since I spend too much money with giant corporations that hate me, I decided to switch things up. I'm getting jeans made in Maine through originmaine.com/.

It's a little over $100 a pair if you get too, which is more than I usually spend but since I literally wear my jeans until they rip, if the quality is good I hope the price will be worth it in the end. Anyways, giving it a shot.

It's really lame that President Trump did not pardon Edward Snowden. For someone that complained about the "deep state" so much, you would think he would have tried to punk them on that when he had the chance. It would have also earned him some grudging respect among some people that did not support him without costing him much (since the people who would hate him for that hated him anyways).

I'd like to spend more time here talking about things like personal habits, goals, discipline, etc. I think I'm going to do this with some daily and weekly check-ins that are follower-only so as not to clutter feeds or share things too widely. With nuggets of inspiration, etc. shared more widely.

So my car mechanic is charging us $550 to replace front rotors and do front and rear break pads. This is in an expensive urban area. Still, I feel like it's painfully high. What's a good place to check the market for stuff life this?

“You want to take on responsibility. You want to take on the heaviest load that you can conceive of that you might be able to move because it gives your life nobility and purpose. And that offsets the tragedy.” – Jordan Peterson

I learned from twitter today that when most highly educated secular progressive commentators were in high school, they stabbed people all the the time, it was no big deal and definitely not a reason for any police officer to get involved.

Thought for the day:

So, what are you going to do about it?

"Our ignorance of history makes us malign our own times: people have always been like this."

-- Gustave Flaubert

Me: Why aren't the arson attacks in Portland, Minneapolis, Oakland and violence in DC, Seattle, etc. on the front page of every major newspapers today?

Me, two seconds later: Wait, what a dumb question.
