@Columbkille @TerrorOfDemons Forked it to start with, as my understanding goes, and the fallout with Mastadon folks happened after that. There was a time when Gab was actually federated.

It was pretty funny, really; the open source ethos should be an apolitical one, in that people will take your stuff and do political things with it. Instead of shrugging, Mastadon itself took issue.

My hot crypto take: I look forward to the day when it is of relatively stable value, such that it shifts away from an investment into a stable payment form, as originally envisioned.

“God desires not death, but faith; God thirsts not for blood, but for self-surrender; God is appeased not by slaughter, but by the offering of your free will.” - Saint Peter Chrysologus

Seems like winter lasted a long while in Chicagoland this time around. Hope it's thawed out where you are, and we actually get something resembling Spring!

One thing people don't always know about priests: Saturdays can be the busiest day, and Sundays are almost always the easiest.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

@Columbkille @vandys I know that pain. I strong-armed everyone onto Signal. Then to Matrix, when they were mad I didn't have a backup back when Signal crashed a while back.

The struggle is real.

@Columbkille @vandys I feel you here. It's not always a transparent environment. Telegram is fine for open groups. Signal's where you want to send actual communications with friends and family. A lot of groups I know are in Discord, but I wish they were in Matrix, which is actually a secure environs.

A beautiful Palm Sunday to one and all! The tone of both triumph and sorrow is my favorite thing about Holy Week. The deep poetry of the faith.
