@DanielHuelsmann Okay, I've gotta ask, what's the deal with the swastika and black, white, and red in your profile?

@jforseth210 The swastika is the symbol of my race, and was also used by Christians when we were persecuted by Rome. The colours Black, White and Red are the colours of the rightful German flag.

Daniel, rightly or wrongly, most people take offense to the swastika / Nazism / National Socialism. In the very least, it is a very serious distraction from our mission. Let's keep our discussion on other, less controversial topics, and particularly on our Lord.

@George I didn't start that conversation. And the term "Nazism" in reference to National Socialism is pejorative.

@jforseth210 @Columbkille @benis

@DanielHuelsmann @George @jforseth210 @benis I know there have been people who have claimed to be both Christian and National Socialist. The issue is that the ideologies, properly understood, conflict. So believing both to be true at the same time requires cognitive dissonance.

As Christians, we are called to renounce all false idols. This is from the Catechism:

"Idolatry not only refers to false pagan worship. It remains a constant temptation to faith. Idolatry consists in divinizing what is not God. Man commits idolatry whenever he honors and reveres a creature in place of God, whether this be gods, or demons (for example satanism), power, pleasure, race, ancestors, the state, money, etc."

There is nothing wrong with having affinity for your ethnic or cultural group. (I do as well, see my avatar and username). But National Socialism goes beyond this and turns ethnic and cultural loyalties into a false idol and thus directly conflicts with Christian teaching and discipleship.

@Columbkille That is how you see National Socialism. I am clear who is my God. And I worship no one but Him.
