Christian persecution 'at near genocide levels'
> In some regions, the level and nature of persecution is arguably coming close to meeting the international definition of genocide, according to that adopted by the UN.

The sea was stirred up because a strong wind was blowing.
When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they began to be afraid.
But he said to them, "It is I. Do not be afraid."
#GospelToday (Jn 14:12-14)
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.
Liberal theology (related to but distinct from liberal politics) attempts twisting revelation to its own ends. To put it succinctly, it is a profound lack of faith and emptiness which seeks to then use faith to its own ends. It is both sad and dangerous.
Trent Horn has a short piece on this.
There are various answers given to the question "why be Catholic?" At the core however, it is simply the truth. Truth is important to Catholics and all people of good will.
Word games are one popular way to hide truth (e.g. "it's just a clump of cells"). Congress often names its bills to imply the exact opposite of what they will actually do. In the sphere of political activism, "antifa" (despite its name) is fascist to its core.
Another fountain of non-truth is "rewriting" history, a tactic of communist and other totalitarian governments. Regardless of ones political leanings, abandoning truth is a recipe for disaster.
This is some interesting tech for blind people (with at least a small amount of function remaining). Just as Cochlear implants have helped many deaf folks, this does something similar for the vision impaired.
I find it amazing when tech helps people who previously had no hope for their physical condition.
#GospelToday (Jn 3:19)
And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil.
Canadians must be proud of their new milestone.
Breaking the 1% barrier for cause of death is... euthanasia!
Some undesirables are eliminated at the beginning of their life via #abortion. Some at the end via state approved life termination. Is this utopia?
#GospelToday (Jn 3:11-12)
Amen, amen, I say to you, we speak of what we know and we testify to what we have seen, but you people do not accept our testimony.
If I tell you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?
Eye of the Tiber is like the Babylon Bee, but for Catholics.
#GospelToday (Jn 3:5-6)
Jesus answered, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. What is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit.
JP Sears usually does satirical comedy (pretty good too). This video is different, urging simple kindness over political correctness. #ProKindness
FWIW - I am *strongly* opposed to PC. It is nothing more than an organized bullying attempt to constrain speech, and ultimately thought, to the latest leftist ideology. Think of it as societal cancer.
The human dignity of every person is equal and as such to be respected. That is kindness. JP is right presenting it opposite PC.
#GospelToday (Jn 20:21-23)
[Jesus] said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."

[But] later, as the eleven were at table, he appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who saw him after he had been raised. He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.

#GospelToday (Jn 21:4-6)
When it was already dawn, Jesus was standing on the shore; but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. Jesus said to them, "Children, have you caught anything to eat?" They answered him, "No."
So he said to them, "Cast the net over the right side of the boat and you will find something." So they cast it, and were not able to pull it in because of the number of fish.
