As a consequence of #COVID19, normal life has been revealed as hopelessly corrupt. When the lockdowns are finally lifted, Americans will be waking to a new world, one with the specter of a second outbreak looming overhead.
The city won't be the same. Local businesses are closing down permanently, and we now know our supply chains are brittle. If you are starting to think political action is necessary, consider how big business donates large lump sums to politicians. Big business writes bills, these days. Politicians are owned. To fight back, we need to start at the #local level, at #subsidiarity
Move from the city. Start a farm, have a family, and become #SelfSufficient Have a say in your town's governance, and shape the culture

First Things has an interesting piece this morning from Michael Warren Davis putting the unfolding political revolution in Catholic and historical perspectives. It is far from unprecedented so history gives us a clear picture of exactly where it leads.
I wonder if there are enough people of faith to pray earnestly for divine assistance. I wonder also if too many people have given-up, are blind to truth, or will one day be known as the appeasers who foolishly accepted "the new normal". How long then will it take until they look back and lament "we could have stopped this"?

Today is the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. In honor of that decision, here is a paper explaining why that decision was a mistake. https://repeal.io/why.html
If a woman's movement is so fragile that it can be threatened by a few men discussing the realities of biological sex, then perhaps we must admit that the progress is based on lies.

In this very dangerous time for Christians in America, I hope to generate deliberate thought:
------------
After Cain killed his younger brother, Abel, God said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” And he said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?"
What do we think God thinks of us when we also flippantly challenge Him with the same question?
Perhaps what He tells us in 1 Corinthians 12 can answer that question: "But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired . . . 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” . . . But God has so composed the body . . . 25 so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another." (1 Corinthians 12:18-25)
Think of the mournful divisions the Body of Christ faces today as we each proclaim: “I am of Paul. I am of Apollos. I am of Cephas – or in modern parlance: I'm a Baptist. I'm a Catholic. I'm an Episcopalian. I am a Lutheran . . .
How long will we continue to rend Christ? A house divided cannot stand. If the Church ever needed a unified Body, it certainly is in 2020.
"The good, according to Dionysius, is caused from one whole cause; but from a single defect arises evil." Evil arises from a single defect. The Fourth Lateran Council (1215), in its decree condemning the Manichaean dualism of the Catharists, taught that “the devil and the other evil spirits were created good in nature, but they became evil by their own actions," through their defect, their rejection of the Truth of God.
Defect means something that is lacking that would complete the being in a manner that is suited to its nature. For example, we would say that a man suffers an evil because he suffers from same-sex attraction. He does not desire his complement that is suited to his nature.
It only takes one defect or lack of being that is proper to a thing or that ought to be there, to render the whole bad or evil.

"When, by an act of his own free will, he rejected the truth that he knew about God, Satan became the cosmic “liar and the father of lies” (Jn 8:44). For this reason, he lives in radical and irreversible denial of God and seeks to impose on creation–on the other beings created in the image of God and in particular on people–his own tragic “lie about the good” that is God."
