I wonder how many people get hung up on John 3:16. How many have difficulty -- serious difficulty -- translating God so loved the 'world' to what is actually the very essence of the gospel -- God so loved the 'one.'

That is why they cannot say with certainty "God so loved 'me' that He gave His Son to die."

"To die for 'me.'"

But that's the whole point of the Lost Sheep. And the Lost Coin. And the Lost Son in Luke 15.

God loves you. God searches for you.

The one.
