It is terribly tragic how many church leaders and laity are helping sinners into the Lake of Fire: https://thecontemplativecatholicconvert.blogspot.com/2019/12/helping-others-into-lake-of-fire.html
I just joined Catholic Action for Faith and Family -- led by Cardinal Raymond Burke.
From their "About Us" page:
Catholic Action for Faith and Family is an association of Catholics that strives to uphold and defend Christian values inspired by the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
The organization works in a legal and peaceful manner in the realm of ideas promote these values.
It aims to provide a network of resources and activities for clergy and laity to inspire them to reach out to others in an active way to defend these values.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3, NIV)
How long is everlasting?
Your answer to that question could be an important exercise, so contemplate your response for a few moments. Come up with some synonyms. Then think a few more moments of the implications of those words.
I write more about it here: https://thecontemplativecatholicconvert.blogspot.com/2019/12/who-will-youl-believe.html
Chick-fil-A's growth rocketed by Christian supporters who strongly backed them when they were attacked for standing by their Christian values.
Since their founder has died, they have now done a "180" and betrayed those same Christians.
Please stop supporting them. Do not just support them less... do not support them at all. They are simply not the company they once were, far from it. Yes, it is sad, but that company is gone.
Immanuel. God really IS with us. On the mountaintops and in the valleys -- even valleys of death and despair. This is an edited version of a message I preached on the Second Sunday of Advent: https://thecontemplativecatholicconvert.blogspot.com/2019/12/immanuel.html
I remember hearing Handel's Messiah for the first time in 1974. I'd been a Christian two years by then.
If I remember correctly, it was the first live symphony performance I'd ever attended. It was a phenomenal experience. Since that time, Nancy and I have periodically attended Messiah performances and I often listen to parts of the symphony year after year.
Funny thing -- I had for more than forty years believed Handel wrote the music AND chose the Biblical texts for the symphony. It was not until only a year or two ago that I learned someone else recommended the Biblical texts that Handel used in his musical masterpiece. His name was Charles Jennens. You can find a quick bio of the man here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Jennens

Betraying the Constitution: Who Will Protect Us from an Unpatriotic Patriot Act? | By John W. Whitehead
While Congress subjects the nation to its impeachment-flavored brand of bread-and-circus politics, our civil liberties continue to die a slow, painful death by a thousand cuts. Case in point: while Americans have been fixated on the carefully orchestrated impeachment drama that continues to monopolize headlines, Congress passed and President Trump signed into law legislation extending three key provisions of the USA Patriot Act, which further normalize the U.S. government’s mass surveillance powers.

God’s love is demonstrated in many ways, not the least of which is His forgiveness. When you repent of your sin – whatever the sin – God always forgives you. It’s very important to not set yourself up as a higher judge than He.
Receive His promise of forgiveness. Don’t waste time beating yourself up over sin which is now forgiven. The flow of God’s mercy into your life is slowed when you continue to ruminate over things He has forgiven and cast into the deepest sea.
The Bible gives many examples of God's incomprehensible and superabundant mercy. Like with King Manasseh: https://thecontemplativecatholicconvert.blogspot.com/2019/11/remember-manasseh.html
George Sipe just posted this. I have copied and pasted it to my FB accounts, along with my Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. I am about to send it to all of my email addressees.

The only thing that can stave off this outflow is for thousands of bishops and priests from across the globe to buy air tickets to Rome, storm the Vatican and demand the Pope act like the first Pope -- or resign.
Well, this is good news. BUT BUT BUT BUT --why is it not yet a federal crime to slaughter babies in the womb? Are animals more important than human babies?
I just saw something really cool in Exodus. I'm sure I'm not the first person to see this, but it sure was exciting when I saw it this morning.
